We must realize that female entry into competition for resources leaves yet another externality that is not accounted for in this equation ie. the care of a child. Therefore we must bear the cost to re eqaulize this shift and offset it by distrubuting the expenditure over the whole. We must collectively support the offspring of all Americans. We have no choice now. We must do this through institutionalizing the child directly after birth into a child care facility or in fact pay for the mother or father to stay home. (This has been done by every developed nation on earth besides my country) Effectively in terms of energy expenditure we are back to square one with the added benefit of women being able to work. Though this will do nothing for us in terms of productivity it will in fact allow women not to need men, which of course is the entire goal. As we have reached this point, again there is no return.
It must be made clear that our goal should be to keep men and women together in a family unit and that by providing this I do not see how it will facilitate the destruction of family like other feminist doctrine has accomplished or at least to
subsidize single motherhood and isolation of the father.
One must understand that the cost of a woman's choice to work or stay home rests on
the shoulders of men. As wages continue to equalize (although I believe they will not due to women's choices>Please see my blogging "76 cents to every dollar")
Traditional Work Roles: Women=100 domestic work
Men =100 outside work
Total work load = 200
Modern Work Roles: Women 100 domestic work + 100 outside work
Men 100 domestic work + 100 outside work
Total work load = 400
It must be made clear that women have to seek men for who we are and not what we can produce. In this day in age most American families have to rely on women to pull in a good wage. The double standard is created when women still look for these things in men in all elements of our relationship. Even in the courtship phase of a relationship men are expected to pay and provide. Due to our innate tendencies I do not think this will change and we are long overdue for a balance.
Given the above it does not take a genius to figure out that we are working harder than ever before not only so that women don't need a man for resource provision but
also to support her choice to stay home to wean and rear an infant child. Despite what feminists teach women, weaning and rearing an infant child is not demeaning to
women. Domestic work is real work and should be respected. Motherhood is in fact something valuable and is not demeaning to women. Nurturing a family is not demeaning. How we will accomplish this extra work load in this day in age is much more difficult. We often are stressed and do not have time.
WE DO NOT PROTEST IN THIS COUNTRY AND IT IS SAD. IF YOU EVER WATCH TV THE FRENCH TAKE TO THE STREETS TO DEFEND THEIR CIVIL LIBERTIES. GET UP AND FIGHT!!!
